4 Holidays for Sports Fans in 2017

So it’s getting to that time of year when everyone is just about sorted for Christmas and we’re just waiting on the clocks going forward to bring in the spring and nice weather. Yeah its four months away but it’s good to plan ahead and get some holidays booked for 2017 before the rest of the office staff get theirs in first. My family are all big sports fans so I’ve started looking at sports breaks that I can get them as a gift for Christmas or more importantly treat myself to.  Here is some inspiration for a sports fans ultimate vacation:

  1. St Lucia Triathalon

For the ultimate athlete in you, combine your annual holiday with a sporting challenge. Go for something different in 2017 and sign up to compete in the Tri St Lucia Triathlon – held in November you are guaranteed an incredible week kicking off with pre-event activities. It’s a great location to bring along the family and have an active holiday where everyone can participate in pre-race activities such as the aquathlon, beach run or open water swim. Can you imagine jogging along the coast looking at the aqua blue crystal waters and white sands? This trip is something really special that will leave long-lasting memories. Get used to the paparazzi photographers too – this event is pretty high profile with Olympic athletes adding it to their competition calendar each year, so you could be rubbing shoulders with Usain Bolt or getting tips from Mo Farah at the competitors after party. This is an experience you can enjoy on your own or as part of a group, prices start at £2,590 which include your entry fees.

  1. Manchester United Match break

Football fans with love this one – an all-inclusive match break including hotel, transport and match ticket for any Manchester United game combined into one amazing package. Yep that’s right, so all you need to do is click onto Thomas Cook Sport and they’ll do all the hard work which will place all your bookings meaning you don’t need to trawl through websites looking for hotel deals. Everyone hates being put on hold to dodgy music too when trying to book tickets so this is the answers to everyone’s prayers, Just click onto the website and pick the team you want to see. Then you just follow through the process to select the hotel you want. They have all the big English Premiership games to choose from at the teams Old Trafford stadium. It’s my father’s birthday coming up next month so this could be the ideal present to buy for him to go to with his brother. As they are both big football fans this would be something really unique and different.

  1. 2017 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix

It’s not often you get opportunities to attend a Formula 1 Grand Prix – the tickets are like gold dust and usually go to corporate sales or are too expensive to even think about raiding your bank account for. However this could be your big chance. How does a three night stay in Milan including flights from London and tickets to the 2017 Italian Grand Prix sound? Pretty exciting eh. Then mark off your diary for 3rd September as you could be flying and experiencing it for yourself. Through Thomas Cook Sport their all-inclusive Formula 1 package will take you to Milan and include transfers to the circuit and airport. Starting at £795 it’s pricey for three days, but for the biggest F1 fan it’ll be unforgettable trip to a stunning city.

  1. Wimbledon 2017

Do you normally cheer on Andy Murray from your sofa? Me too. But next year you could be watching him defend his world no1 title right on centre court. When I have watched Tennis on tv I always thought that getting those amazing seats and sitting in the sun sipping on Pimm’s were impossible – those people must know famous celeb’s or politicians, right? Well get yourself organised to jet down to London for the best Grand Slam of the year at Wimbledon. Flybe have really reasonable fares to London City from other UK airports – I found these Flybe discount codes online to get a further saving. So that’s transport arranged, how about the game tickets? Just register for the online ballot where you will go into a lottery to be offered the tickets at a really good cost for next July’s tournament. If you’re lucky to get them, you can upgrade to get hospitality treatment to make it an ever more special occasion.
